Defiance.. one tree against the world!!

I have admired this tree on Loch Ard for some years now. I have no doubt that it will lose against the elements, but hopefully not in my lifetime.

If you are interested in visiting loch Ard or seeing what it has to offer, i have been putting together a blog that covers this beautiful little loch... check it out here..

Morning Sun, Forth and Clyde canal

I didn't have to travel far this morning to find some lovely mist and sunrise... five minutes drive from home. I am also pleased to say, having spoken to a twitcher on the canal, that there have been otters seen on this stretch of the canal as well as 6 pairs of kingfishers; testimony to all the work to regenerate this lovely stretch of water.

Shore --- Line

I really hope I'm not boring you guys with all these seascapes. I find it very theraputic and slightly exhillarting going out and taking them. As I have stated before it just isn't as much fun now if I come home from a photo shoot and I haven't been soaked.

City of Dundee by Night

City of Dundee by Night, originally uploaded by Scott9432.

3 second exposure capture of Dundee, Scotland, just after sunset.
This picture was taken from across the Firth of Tay, which feeds into the North Sea.

Part of my Scotland set,
Dundee used to be a town full of mills, mainly exporting jute and other fabrics, which were used for ship sails, potato sacks and more, business boomed in Dundee during several wars, when they were required to make boating sails. Dundee also had a huge shipbuilding industry, mainly building whaling ships that could withstand becoming stuck in the Arctic ice. Dundee is also nicknamed 'City of Discovery', as it was the place where the ship RRS Discovery, a research ship that went to the Antarctic, and remained ice-locked for two years, was built. Discovery is still in Dundee today.

It's fitting that the 1000th photo post on this blog is of one of Scotland's most iconic castles basking in the gloaming. To mark the occasion this 1000th shot by Miss.Informed will become the Flickr group's new icon.

Thanks to all the talented Flickr photographers who have contributed to this blog and to those of you who read and enjoy our daily gloamingness. Keep it up! Here's to 2000 posts.

Come... Take a seat... Enjoy the view!

Passed by this place when I was on the way back to my car. I quickly unpacked my gear and took a 15 seconds exposure before anyone passed by.

I simply love how the warm and cold light work together here.
