The Assistant and friends
Ronachan, Argyle.
It is difficult to concentrate on photography when this is going on. The seals spent half an hour swimming closer and closer while our dog had coniptions trying to catch them.

Dawn light at Rua Reidh (Rubh Re) Lighthouse
About as panaromic a view as I could get from this angle without falling into The Minch!
The road to this lighthouse from Melvaig is something else, fortunately the only traffic I saw on my visit was a few sheep (!) and they (normally!) moved when they saw the car.
Rua Reidh was designed by David A and Charles Stevenson and first lit in 1912. The lighthouse was automated in 1986, the original fresnel lens is now in the Gairloch Heritage Museum.
The keepers' houses are now a hostel/B&B, although there didn't seem to be anyone around when I visited.
